Central Lee's Larson runner-up at SEISC tourney

HTC's Hellige shoots an 86 to lead Crusaders

FORT MADISON – Caleb Larson shot a 9-over par 81 to lead Central Lee to second place at the SEI Superconference golf tournament Wednesday at Sheaffer Memorial Golf course.
Mylan Lowenberg shot an 85 and Carter Jones carded an 87 as the Hawks scored 344 to finish 20 points behind Mediapolis who captured the tournament title. Carson Morrison came around with a 91 to finish off the scoring players for Central Lee.
Holy Trinity Catholic’s Luke Hellige shot a strong 86 to lead the Crusaders to a 9th-place finish. Nathan Box finished with a 102 and Brock Scheetz had 105 for HTC. Andy Mehmert wrapped up HTC’s scoring players with a 108 for a team total of 401.
Mediapolis’ Jacob Grier was medalist with an 80. Van Buren’s TJ Jirak was runner-up with an 91. Central Lee’s Larson tied for 2nd in the 15-team event. Hellige finished tied for 15th.
