Hawks fall in three sets in SEISC matchup with Notre Dame

DONNELLSON – The Central Lee girls' volleyball team dropped a key SEI Superconference volleyball match Tuesday night in Donnellson.
The Hawks fell in three sets 25-22, 25-15, 25-19 to Class 1A No. 12 Burlington Notre Dame to fall to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Nikes sole loss has been to Class 2A No. 9 West Burlington back on Sept. 7.
Taylor Jones once again anchored the Hawks' offense in the middle with 10 kills on 30 attempts. She also served 11-12 and pulled out 12 digs. Ellie Lake was 20-22 serving with an ace in the win.
Libero Jayden Mueller had 22 digs for Central Lee. Kenna Sandoval had nine kills on 20 attacks and Kylie Fortune had six kills on 15 attempts. She also had two blocks in the loss.
Central Lee travels to Van Buren Thursday night to take on the 8-4 Warriors in another SEI Superconference matchup. They play at the Holy Trinity Classic Monday night in Fort Madison starting at 4 p.m.
